About my WeekendOver the weekend I attended a great workshop, Introduction into Voice Acting! It was so fun. On the Saturday we worked on mic technique and commercials, which was fun but I figured out that I can’t read under pressure...but I eventually got the hang of it. I did a great subway commercial, of all things...Yeah. Anyway, at the end of the day we worked on animation, making character voices. It was a blast, though when I got home I passed out...voice acting takes a surprising amount of energy.
On the second day we did more animation and some Narration. Which is a lot harder than you think. At the end of the day there was a mock audition for the style of our choice, (commercial, animation, ect.) I did animation, and I think I did pretty well. We get the C.D’s back this week, so we can hear how we did. There were some great people there and it was tons of fun. I’m glad I went.
Oh, cool note, the guy that taught us, and I spent lunch with, was a special guest at this year’s Animethon and has voiced people in transformers. He’s worked with the people who voiced Naruto and also narrates Ice road Truckers. How awesome is that?
So yeah, it was good times.
But I picked up a bug from one of the awesome people taking the class, and I have missed two days now...ung, so much work to catch up on. It hurts to speak and my chest is so sore from coughing for 48 hours straight...so don’t expect art for a while, ok? I’ll draw something as soon as I can eat. I promise!
